The Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart has long been a champion of pan-cultural
rhythms, and here he joins forces with similarly inclined colleagues from India,
Nigeria and Puerto Rico (along with several other guests) to create a richly
satisfying kaleidoscope of acoustic and electronic beats, samples and subtly
infectious melodies. Though always rhythmically dense and complex, this music is
also strangely gentle and contemplative even when the tempos are quick.
Recommended wherever world music and/or Grateful Dead recordings are in
demand.
