After a careful look at how many times our adult VHS movies have been checked out over the past two years (very few times), we have decided it’s time to take them out of our collection to make room. We will keep the children’s VHS movies for now.

Once we get the VHS tapes un-cataloged, we will offer them for sale for 50 cents apiece. If you have a particular favorite title from our collection, let us know and we’ll save it for you.

We’re planning to replace a few of the most popular VHS titles with DVDs. If you have one of the following DVDs at home sitting on a shelf never getting watched, please consider donating it to the library. We would be very grateful.

Forrest Gump

A Civil Action

Back to the Future

Star Wars: A New Hope

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

The Board of Trustees recently increased the limit on video checkouts from three at a time to five at a time. New videos, which are marked with “NEW” stickers and shelved with the new books in front of the desk, are limited to two per card at a time. Regular videos are due back in a week; new videos go out for two days with only one renewal. Remember fines for videos remain at $1.00 per day—be sure to renew!

Three new videos in this week, the last for this year:
Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian: Ben Stiller in sequel to family comedy
Julie & Julia: Meryl Streep and Amy Adams in Nora Ephron’s film combining narrative from two books
Intrepid Descent: Skiing Tuckerman’s
